Gilda’s Club sponsors quilt clubs

September 30, 2011

Gilda’s Club is part of the Cancer Support Community.  Founded by comedian Gilda Radner and her husband, actor Gene Wilder; it was an effort to provide a version of California’s Wellness Community to other parts of the country. It was Gilda’s wish that “no one should face cancer alone.” For 45 years Gilda’s Clubs have made a positive difference for people affected by cancer. Gilda’s Clubs provide many activities like book clubs, euchre tournaments and quilt classes. Quilt classes can be found in Rochester, New York, Nashville, Tennessee, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Somers Point, New Jersey. At one Gilda’s Club, children made quilt blocks at Noogiefest that when put together became decorations for the Club.
