The Somerset Hills YMCA’s Active Older Adults program held its second distribution of homemade quilts to Alzheimer’s patients on May 31.

Representatives from local senior centers accepted quilt donations for patients in Bernards Township and Bridgewater. The program, organized by the Y’s senior outreach coordinator Laurie Reynolds, offers seniors the opportunity to share their time and talents to create quilts that have been shown to be soothing to Alzheimer’s patients.
